I just, I don’t know…

I liked the previous two Cosplay Fever videos.

This one though, it feels exceptionally wooden, and it’s giving off a serious internet-toughguy vibe too. Like.. OH MY GOD I’M SO VICTIMISED BUT ITS OKAY I CAN TOTALLY BEAT THOSE HORRIBLE PEOPLE UP WITH MY GLORIOUS HANZO STEEL »>:/
Maybe everyone looks so wooden because they don’t particularly like the song or something but idk… 

I might be alone in this, but it just felt so negative compared to the previous two videos. Less parties and celebration and more I DO WHAT I WANT OMG DON’T JUDGE!!1!

If somebody doesn’t appreciate your hobby, just ignore them and don’t sink to their level, maybe?

I’m so glad I’m not the only one with this opinion!

Everyone on my facebook is praising this video so much and I actually can’t stand it.

I think it’s just terrible! The whole bit at the beginning just felt and looked so depressing, and it’s not even like I felt my spirits lifted by the end of the video, it still felt like it ended on a down note.

Considering their last two videos were so bloody good, and I love them so much, this was a massive MASSIVE let down.

And you’re so right! It feels totally wooden. I’ve been trying to think of a word to use all day to describe how this video feels.

I have to admit, these are my feelings. 

Also I would’ve been happier with RATM all the way through :p

On top of all of the above (which I agree with), I’m sick of seeing the same fucking faces in every one of their videos!

Don’t get me wrong, a lot of them are people I know and very much love, but gosh, showing the same people over and over really isn’t a good reflection of the UK cosplay community. It’s like a popularity contest and it’s just so silly. Why not show other people that might not be so well known, but look stunning?

These are my feelings :( I think the whole format is getting stale. And as much as I love seeing my friends on there when they are all I see without any new variety it makes it even more cringy…my respect for CF kinda dropped anyway when they told my friend his cosplay wasn’t good enough for the video ^^’

I really hope they didn’t seriously say that.

I mean, I knew it was a popularity contest, but still. That makes me so mad, I’m seething. It’s bad enough you need to be part of thier special group on Facebook to be “invited” to thier videos, but still. Ugh.

Lets ignore that I am in that special group but I don’t really give a fuck about the videos anymore after hearing that.

Two things:

First, This “special club/group” that you have to be in to get in one of these videos, you don’t have to be in the group to be in the video, though i guess it helps

I was added to the group two days ago to be asked how i’d like to be credited at the end, two days, when the video was filmed last year

Second: if that person’s friend’s costume wasn’t good enough, maybe it wasn’t, and what’s wrong with the guys at cosplay fever wanting only good costumes in the videos, and by using the same people they know they’re getting quality. Also to this point not everybody can lip sync very well (i’m surprised i got in as the riddler) and again by using the same people they also getting people who can lip sync

Not to be rude, but not everyone that’s in the videos right now can lip sync.

The whole “costume isn’t good enough” is not really for Cosplay Fever to decide. Some people are not skilled enough to produce something that is “good enough”. Some people can’t sew so buy costumes and wear them. Some people are too fat/thin/big/small etc to look 100% perfect as a character, why should they be excluded? The original Cosplay Fever books were about showcasing as many costumes from the UK community as possible, and there is wonderful variation in the costumes in terms of style, skill, etcetera shown. Anyone who wanted the chance to appear in the books had a fair chance. Now, it’s become cliquey and contrived. Originally, I wanted to be in a Cosplay Fever vid, but missed my chance because I lost Adam (whose time slot it was) and then forgot. But knowing now how “exclusive” it is, I don’t think I’d want to be in it any more— Big loss for them I know but hey that isn’t my point.

You are the only person who I’ve spoken to who has claimed you don’t need to be in the group to be in the video, and don’t get me wrong, if I’m mistaken then I’ll back down and admit it but that’s how I see it and no-one else has told me anyway. The reason being, to get a timeslot for a CF video, you have to ask the CF guys specifically- but thew only way you’ll really know if a video is being planned is by being in the group. The group is also where the schedule is posted, which you will need to know if you are in the video. The worst part is, this group is invisible to everyone unless you’ve been specifically invited by someone. For people who originally claimed their goal was to showcase UK cosplayers, then they aren’t doing a very good job.

Back in October I got the chance to be part of another Cosplay Fever Video as both Commander Shepard and with my assassin’s creed crew. YES IM AWARE IM AWKWARD AS FUCK. But Hopefully that wont stop your enjoyment of the video. Because its SICK.
